Sri Lanka Tour- 6 Nights / 7 Days ( Colombo - Pinnawela - Dambulla - Sigiriya - Matale - Kandy - Nuwara eliya – Colombo )

Day 1: Arrive Colombo
Welcome on arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to Colombo. Overnight stay in Colombo.

Day 2: Colombo – Pinnawela- Dambulla
Breakfast at hotel & proceed to the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela. See the elephants in nature, being fed, working & bathing in the nearby river. Make a ride on an elephant. Afternoon visit the Dambulla rock temple built by the King Wlagambahu, in the 1st Century B.C. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Dambulla / Habarana.

Day 3: Dambulla – Sigiriya – Matale – Kandydambulla
Breakfast at hotel & drive to Sigiriya. Climb the 5th century Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is a world heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). There after leave for the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings. The name ‘Kandy’ conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. En route stop at Matale to see a Hindu temple, visit to a Sri Lankan School, a batik factory to and a spice garden to see different spices. Make a sight seeing tour of Kandy. Visit the temple of the tooth relic, lake, upper lake, Kandy Market area. Later in the evening witness a cultural dance show & fire walking. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 4: Kandy – Nuwara eliya
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the university area & the royal botanical gardens in Peradeniya before proceeding to Nuwara eliya, known as “Little England”. En route see the mountains covered with tea bushes and cascading waterfalls. Visit a tea factory and a plantation to see the tea manufacturing process. Enjoy a freshly brewed cup of “Ceylon Tea”. Evening make a city tour of Nuwara eliya. Overnight stay in Nuwara eliya.

Day 5: Nuwara eliya – South West Coast.day-tour_03
After breakfast leave for the south-west coast of Sri Lanka. Travel through a beautiful landscape & see the widest waterfall of Sri Lanka, “St. Clair’s”. Enjoy the rich nature. Make a stop at the Tea Kiosk passing the “Devon” waterfall. Drive through Kithulgala where the Oscar winning movie “Bridge on the River Kwai” was filmed. Make a visit to a rubber plantation. See the rubber manufacturing process. For those who love adventure, (optional) white water rafting could be arranged at Kithulgala, down river Kelani, Sri Lanka’s second largest. Afternoon at leisure by the beach. Overnight stay by the beach in the South West Coast.

Day 6: South West Coast – Colomboday-tour
Breakfast at hotel & leave for Colombo. Make a sightseeing tour in Colombo. Visit a Buddhist Temple, a Hindu Temple, Pettah, Fort, Galle Face Green, Independence Square, etc. Discover the city & explore the shopping malls, such as House of Fashion, Odel, Arena, etc. Evening at leisure. Night life lovers can explore the city’s night life options. Overnight stay in Colombo.

Day 7: Colombo + Departure
Breakfast & transfer to airport for onward flight.
