Mahabalipuram - famous for the seven pagodas,
Enroute-visiting Kanchipuram - (64 kms from
Chennai) is the ancient capital of the Pallavas
famous as a city of 1000 Temples and still has
124 shrines. The first temple dedicated to Shiva
was built in the 7th and 8th century and has
paintings on the walls. Temples of Ekambaswara,
Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy
are of interest. Kanchipuram is also famous for

a panchayat town in Viluppuram district
(erstwhile South Arcot district) in the Indian

railway station is Trivandrum 28 km away. Gingee
is famous for its Ginger Fort, a popular tourist
attraction. The Chola Dynasty built the Fort in
Gingee in 13th century. On arrival, check into

guided sight seeing of the city visiting Brihadeeswarar
Temple- the
second largest monolithic sculpture,
dedicated to the Lord Subramanya; known for its
huge Shiva Lingam and a stone sculpture of the
Nandi Bull, The
Palace - built around 1550 AD by the Nayaks, the
palace is an example of fine work of masonry and
the Great Royal bronze
sculpture Museum.

seeing of Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple, which
near around Tanjore and it is an architectural
work of genius and regarded as the reproduction
of Brihadisvara Temple that was built by
Rajaraja Chola, father of Rajendra Chola. The
temple is renowned for having the biggest
Shivalingam in the Southern part of India. The
superb architecture of the temple boasts of a
9-storey vimanam that extends to the height of
185 feet. Facing the east direction, Gangai
Konda Cholapuram embraces incredible sculptures
and carvings. Not less than 54.86m in height,
the temple structure follows the style of
Brihadisvara Temple. The whole temple is thrived
with rich and intricate carvings that are
exclusive to Chola style of artistry. After

Hotel. Later Proceed for sightseeing of Trichy,
Srirangam temple, Rock-Fort temple, Ganapati
temple and the Museum - is located at Rani
Mangammal Mahal near Super Bazaar of Trichy. It
has the collection of several cultures of
Mahavir, Buddha and Vishnu etc. Ancient
sculptures such as thirumal crawling Krishna,
thirumal with consorts, Goddess Durga, Saint
Manickavasagar, Nataraja and Chandra Sekharare
on display. In addition the museum has the
collection of tribal model of Pachamalai hills,
Thanjavur painting, Coins of India etc.
